Len Harpin
What years were you a Ball Boy? 1947 What courts did you look after, what age were you? I was on court 13 aged 16 Did you enjoy the task and why? Yes I did as it was different from repairing shoes my every day job, plus we mixed with other people. Did anything unusual/funny happen whilst you were on court? The first day they put me on court 13 next to the scoreboard. I had been told how to talk, how to throw, roll and run, but they had never given me instruction on how to keep the score. Drobny jokingly threw his racket at me Which player did you most enjoy meeting and why? Drobny and a Miss June Bostock but Drobny stays in my mind as a very nice man Who is your favourite tennis player today Tim Henman, we should all be very proud of him and I hope he comes out the champion. Do you play tennis now and if so do you belong to a club? No and at the age of 72 I don’t think I will ever be joining one now Would you like to add any further information?
