The Ragged School Museum: a unique history of the East End of London, and in particular of the Copperfield Road Ragged School and Dr Barnardo's old Cromwell Road School. Old Dr Barnardo's homes: Barnardo's opened hundreds of children’s homes across the UK from Thomas Barnardo’s day until the 1970’s. Barnardo's today don’t run orphanages or children’s homes anymore. This is a directory of all the homes that I could find listed and what happened to them. Parkstone Sea Training: The last Dr. Barnardo Sea Training School which closed in 1964. The web site has photos and memories. The training school was formed from the two existing sea schools in 1949. The school was officially opened in 1951. Watts naval Training School: After the death of Mr E. H. Watts his eldest son, Mr. Fenwick S. Watts, took up the work that had dropped from his father's hands. He managed thorough repair, furnished the institution from the basement to the top storey at a cost of several thousand pounds and handed it over to Dr. Barnardo's Homes as one of the most complete institutions of its kind in England.
