Johnny Leach wanted to send a Christmas message to his old
Housemaster Jack Johnstone who now lives in Canada, as he had missed
the last post so it would arrive before Christmas if he sent it via
snail mail, he asked me to send an email to Jack. While I
can't divulge the content of Johnny's email to Jack I think its safe
to tell you part of his email. Sometime in the new year when you
have time could you please forward your telephone number as I placed
it in such a safe place I am unable to find it, also next week you
will need to take all your Grand children to the local cemetery to
show them where Father Christmas is buried, like matron did for us.
I then sent the message to Jack Friday 12th December 2003 @
22:41Hrs Johnny had worked out that the part of Canada where Jack
now lives is six hours behind us and he wondered how long it would
be before Jack received his message. While I was still talking to
Johnny my computer gave me a little ping to announce new mail has
arrived.
It was from Jack Johnston and was sent at 22:47 Hrs
Dear Johnny,
Your message came through. loud and clear. It was a good idea to
send it via e-mail as it gets here so quickly. My phone number is (xxxx
xxx xxx). When you phone, remember that we are six hours behind you.
I will look forward to hearing from you again. Best wishes. Jack
Johnstone.
Johnny quickly cleared from me and phoned Jack who was still
laughing about Father Christmas being buried in the cemetery. They
had a good natter for over 30 minutes, now this is where the
problems start as Johnny Leach as some of you know lives at No 3
Poverty street on the corner of hardupbend and wants to get a refund
from the Goldings reunion fund for his phone call. I told him to go
carol singing in poverty street to get some money in. |
