The children were moved from Wretham Hall in Norfolk to Wangford Hall in 1940. By all accounts the children did not mix well with the local children.

13th. October 1941 @ 02:30Hrs four HE's were dropped at Wangford Hall. The windows and roof were damaged and the children, (it was then a Dr. Barnardo's Home,) were evacuated. Two boys were slightly injured.
