Teichman House was opened January 1966 as a boys home with most of the children coming from Honingham Hall, the home became  a boys and girls home. This home was named after the owner of Honingham Hall Sir Eric Teichmann who was shot within his grounds by an American serviceman who he had caught poaching one Sunday morning in December of 1944 Teichman close finally closed March 1971.
