Ravelrig House was opened august 1948. Day unit opened December 1968 (nursery). In September of 1971 it provided mixed accommodation before closing in February 1975. Ravelrig House reopened in November 1977 as a home for children with physical and learning disabilities adjoined with Cruachan which built within the grounds.
