Old Roar House.

or is it this one?? or is this the back view

Old Roar House was opened 1938. Closed 1940. Re-opened 1944 as a home for boys aged five to 16 years. Old Roar House closed on the 30th April 1972 For those that wondered what ever happened to the Scaletrix? It went to High Broom.

On Easter Sunday afternoon, Alan Jackson and other Old Boys from Old Roar House with their wives, paid a surprise visit to their old Home to present a "Tea-o-matics" to Miss C. Shepherd and Mr. H. R. "Pop" Pheby as a token of appreciation of their work.

Old Roar House closed on the 30th April 1972, and Alan wrote to say: "I know that I speak for many Old Boys and ex-staff in wishing "Pop" and Miss Shepherd the very best in their retirement. I would like to pay this tribute to them both: 'It was great knowing you. We owe you both a great deal.' "
