Mossford Lodge is officially opened Oct 1874, it has places for six girls. It quickly grows to sixty and becomes a problem for Thomas Barnardo. Mossford closes March 1875

On the 17th June 1873
Thomas Barnardo was presented with
Mossford Lodge as a wedding present from John Sands. The property comes on
a 15 year lease.
