Meadows Memorial Home / House/School,
London Road,
South borough,
Kent.

Meadows Memorial Home/House/School was opened 1939 for boys over 11 years with learning difficulties. Now residential special school for children with learning difficulties.

LONDON DIVISION MEADOWS SCHOOL SOUTH BOROUGH

This school offers education and care of up to forty boys. It specialises in trying to help those who have encountered particular difficulty in their own local schools and many of the pupils have suffered greatly because of problems in their own families and personal lives.

During the last two years there have been two significant developments. Two houses in the communities of Tunbridge Wells and South borough are now used as living accommodation for the pupils and it has been agreed that in principle the school should provide for girls as well as boys. In both cases the intention is that the youngsters' experience at Meadows should help them in the best possible way to cope with day-to-day living in the communities they come from and will return to.
