Heathfield House was opened December 1947 an re-named Kenward when the children moved from Kenward Yalding In  April 1975. Heathfield House provided accommodation for children with emotional difficulties. Kenward was set to close December 1980, but it finally closed July 1981.

On the 22nd September 1973 did Ed Stewart open the Fête? The last reunion held at Maidstone in 1975 Then the reunion held on Sunday 23rd May 1982 at Old Kenward Yalding.
