Dallington Lodge was opened in 1902 as a home for girls with special needs. In 1933 a home for girls, then in 1966 it Became a mixed home housing 20 children. Dallington Lodge was closed as a Barnardo Home in December 1970.

Social services took the building over, then in 1977 they put the building up for sale with an asking price of £88,000 freehold. Last known Dallington Lodge is being used by Sharpmark Labelling Systems as their HQ
