The above photo of the boys around the Original Heidelberg was taken about 1955 the machine was donated to Goldings by Heidelberg I think it was the 100,000 machine made, to my memory Peter Mitchel or  Terry Burger were the first to operate it, it was in Bill Purkis's room, I was sent up to Heidelberg school in London to learn about their machines, we used to call Bill Purkis "Rich" and his brother Reg 'Rags" how many printers remember tying a banger onto a piece of pagecord and then pining it onto Reg's overall   Bob Robertson
