Kinnaird House notes
winter 1953

This year, it is our great pleasure to write the House Notes. We are pleased to introduce our new House Father and House Mother, Mr. and Mrs. Marriott'to the Junior Floor. They have made great improvements in the Junior Houses, not only in one thing, but in everything, and are still making good progress. .

This year we have lost Monitor AlIen, Leonard Beckley and Herbert Bonney to the Seniors, but we have filled their places, with twelve other new boys, who are making progress in the school.

As for Sport: Cricket; we were runners-up for the Cup. With 26 points for swimming we came last, with only four swimmers. Football; we have won one out of three games and are second from the bottom, but the teams are still trying hard.

We will close this years house notes with our very best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley and Family and all other members of the Staff and hope they have a Merry Christmas and a great success in the coming year.

Kinnaird House notes
Summer 1953

This term we have had four new entrants to our house; Peter Mitchell, Brian Gregory, Edward Coombes and George Willans. These boys', have each in his turn have done something for the House .since arrival.

This term we have four players in the Junior A Cricket Team. The house team has won one game and drawn one.

Sports this year cannot be our strong point as we came last in Athletics with only thirteen points. We stand a chance in the Swimming Sports.

So far this year we have only won one cup, that being the boxing cup.

We should like to show our appreciation to Mr. Culver and Mr. Corbett for the manner in which the school has been run during the absence of the house masters, Also .we would like to wish Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley, Mr. Corbett and all the Staff and boys a happy holiday.

Kinnaird House notes

Once again it is time to write the latest reports of the House. This year we did not do quite so well in boxing as we did last year, but still, we lost a good lot of our best boxers when they went to the Seniors. We are doing quite well at football this season, although we may not obtain the cup.

In our House we are sorry to lose the following boys, who will become Seniors at Easter: Robert Angel, William Boyd, Thomas Carrier, John Medland, Paul Kelbie, Frederick Fossey and Sidney Cann, but we welcome in Patrick Beresford and Trevor Carrier.

We hope to do well at cricket and also at athletics. I don't know if we will get anywhere in swimming this year because we have lost all of our best swimmers.

We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Jones from Yorkshire. This is their first time in Barnardo's so we wish them luck.

Lastly, we wish Mr. and Mrs, Wheatley and all the staff a very happy Easter.

D. PALMER, R. MEDLAND, Monitors
