Although not everyone had a time that they wish to remember whilst in the care of Dr Barnardo's, we do all have our memories and stories to tell. Goldonian web want to post all views from Old Boys, we try to give a balanced view that reflects the different ways that we all perceived our time in care. These are just some of the Golden moments, why not add your memories.

One old boy Reg Longman wrote from Canada in 1997:

I was at Goldings from 1946 until September 1950. I can hardly imagine any of the old masters or staff will be present although I did of course see in the 'Guild' that Mr. Whitbread, the Albion van driver, was at the last reunion, he was a great guy and everyone liked him. I can still remember the aroma of the fresh bread in the back of the van, when we picked it up from Stepney in the East End of London, if I were fortunate to be the 'van boy'. I can also remember the smell of the 'cheesy' boots we brought back to Goldings from other homes, for repair.
